F+B Partner Don Ford to Speak on Business Issues Affecting Law Firms

In 2019, the lawyers practicing Estate, Trust, and Guardianship law in North Texas (including Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Denton, and the surrounding counties) developed an idea to have a joint continuing education program for the attorneys and the judiciary in those counties to come together and learn about the new developments in the practice of law affecting the courts and the lawyers. The conference was such a success that the 2020 program is already planned and quickly approaching.

For this year’s program, the planning committee asked F+B founder and managing partner Don Ford to address the conference on the business issues that affect the practice of law, specifically in the trusts and estates arena. As a graduate of Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business with undergraduate and master’s level achievements in business, Mr. Ford has become known as much for his business acumen as his expertise in practicing law.

Mr. Ford will speak to the group of more than 300 lawyers and judges on a wide range of basic business concepts, ranging from branding to entrepreneurship to supply and demand of legal services. The program should provide a fresh look at the underpinnings of a law practice – the business concepts that apply equally to law firms as they do to any other business.
